This sparkling wine is a superb example of Mauzac fizz - soft, fresh, with an
elegant (slightly appley) fruit character and persistent mousse. Bottle
fermentation adds toastiness & complex flavour.
"For ambitious, quality-minded producers like the Panmans, entering wine
competitions is an effective way of gaining recognition. In 2005 their wines
clocked up three Gold, eight Silver and four Bronze medals, as well as a two
star mention in Guide Hachette. They may beat this in 2006." Steven Spurrier,
Decanter Magazine, December 2006
"Mid priced. Crisp and dry?this sparkling wine offers character and great
value." Peter McCombie MW Restaurant Magazine 3rd January 2007
"A creamily delicious alternative to Champagne that won't show you up in
front of your guests. They were making sparkling wine here well before
Champagne." Jonathan Ray, The Best Festive Wines, The Daily Telegraph, 27th
