A really superb sparkling Loire, dry but not aggressive, produced from
Chenin Blanc in the small village of Martigne-Briand, close to the town of
Saumur. The wine has a beautifully fragrant English late summer fruits bouquet
(apples and pears) and is clean, fresh and lively on the palate, a great
alternative to Champagne.
